I’m contemplating making my Classrooms Without Walls project into a nonprofit. I believe it is the only way that it will grow. How do you start? I quickly googled “education nonprofits” and found a useful sight.
The Craigslist Foundation provides a variety of information. In their own words,
“Craigslist Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. We produce events and online resources that help emerging nonprofit leaders:
- Get established
- Gain visibility
- Develop the skills and knowledge required for long-term success
- Connect with peers, potential supporters and valuable industry resources
We do not fund, consult nor promote individual organizations. Instead, we produce and highlight resources that benefit as many organizations as possible and strengthen civil society as a whole.
Think of us as a community catalyst –creating and promoting resources to help leaders contribute real value to our community.”
This site provides some useful links.
- Nonprofit Boot Camp Online – podcasts and a variety of other online resources
- Idealist.org – This site bills itself as tools for nonprofits. The link didn’t work when I tried it. I did find the site’s Wikipedia entry. Here’s some more information about this organization.
I’ll read through this information and share my thoughts with you. Please share your thoughts with me.
