Technology Backbone

In the previous post I profiled the Craigslist Foundation, an excellent resource for those interested in starting a nonprofit. I am considering making my Classrooms Without Walls into a nonprofit.

I began reviewing some of  the information on Craigslist Foundation  and found an interesting project – The Technology Backbone. This project, still in development, uses technology to create a network of people who are interested in nonprofits and sharing their knowledge and resources. In their own words,

“The Technology Backbone is a social networking tool that aims to facilitate communication and collaboration for mission-based organizations and coalitions. Part Yahoo! Groups, part Friendster and part MoveOn.org, the resource will be distributed for free or at low cost.”

This looks like an exciting project. I’ll  definitely be part of it once it comes to fruition.
