Bringing Cultures Together Through Music

One of my goals is to explore how the marriage of music and the internet can bring cultures together. I am exploring the possibilities through my website Classrooms Without Walls and on eduFire. In today’s class (on eduFire), one of my students from Vietnam introduced us to a nice Vietnamese video. We also discussed Cultures in Harmony, FODfest, and Playing for Change.

Music brings people together. It is the language of friendship. I am beginning with an online world music discussion. Students in this free class, Bringing Cultures Together Through Music – Music Party will play a recording of their favorite song, explain the song, its instruments, etc. and tell us why it is special.
