The Secret

The English as a Second Language book that I use contains some information about The Secret. From the site,

The Secret book reveals how you can change every aspect of your life. You can turn any weakness or suffering into strength, power, unlimited abundance, health and joy.

Everything is possible, nothing is impossible. There are no limits. Whatever you can dream of can be yours, when you use The Secret.”

So what is the secret? The law of attraction. Your thoughts attract what happens to you. If you think positively, positive things happen to you; if you think negatively, negative things happen to you. Initially, I wan’t buying this. However, as I thought about this, I realized that this secret is just another example about the power of positive thinking.

My dad always told me, “Laugh and the world laughs with you. Cry, and you cry alone.” He taught me that your attitude determines your success or your failure. You have a better chance getting that job if you interview positively and confidently. You learn more if you keep an open mind. When you are miserable, everyone at work appears miserable. Your attitude filters your impressions. Your attitude defines your day.

So is The Secret really a secret? Yes! Follow politics. Listen to people complain about their jobs, their car, the economy. There is a lot of negative energy in this world. The Secret really is a secret.
